Cecily Frederick is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), and Gokhale Method Teacher.
After a time away, Cecily came back to yoga to heal persistent low-back pain. Unable to return directly to a group class because of pain, she found private yoga instruction invaluable. She also studied directly and intensively with Esther Gokhale (8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back author) to refine her understanding of a healthy spine and hands-on teaching of healthy posture.
Cecily began teaching yoga 14 years ago. Since 2002, she has completed an additional 200-hr (2004) and a 500-hr (2013) Yoga Teacher Training with Scott Anderson (Alignment Yoga - a Registered Yoga School) in WI. Cecily certified to teach the Gokhale Method Foundations Course in 2015.
Cecily has been a meditation student for the last 8 years. She has studied locally with Mare Chapman as well as on retreat with Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
